The J.W. Collection Series baskets commemorated John Wendell Longaberger, who, with his wife Bonnie, purchased the Dresden Basket Company during the Great Depression in 1936. This collection commemorates the first twelve baskets he ever wove, in his “Daddy John’s” workshop.
